Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM)
Two Specs Aarhus STMs are available on our UHV Surface Analysis systems. These systems allows atomic level imaging of the structural and electronic properties of surfaces in UHV and environmental (high temperature / ambient pressure) conditions.

Variable Temperature/Pressure Scanning Tunneling microscope (Aarhus-SPECS)
- Reaction cell with SPM head for AFM/STM, radiative heater, and near ambient pressure capability
- UHV to 100 mbar pressure range
- RT - 300°C temperature range with 10 mbar pressure
- LN2 - 600°C temperature range in UHV
- Parking station with heating capabilities
- Argon sputter gun for tip cleaning
